A global investment bank has selected KnowledgePool to manage all of its staff training in the UK and Ireland.

KnowledgePool will coordinate and administer the provision of all in-house training events and open schedule courses for around 5,000 employees. It will also review and maintain a list of preferred training suppliers, ensuring that the bank benefits from significant volume discounts on the cost of training.

"KnowledgePool will leverage the best training deals for us," said a bank spokesperson. "They buy training services for a large number of clients, so they can negotiate the best prices. They will manage everything for us and this will help us to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our training in the future."

KnowledgePool will connect its web-based training administration system to the bank's corporate online learning catalogue. KnowledgePool learning advisers will work on-site, in one of the bank's London offices, to manage the in-house training activities. Other KnowledgePool learning advisers, will manage all external third-party training from an off-site shared service centre. KnowledgePool will also operate a helpline to ensure the bank's employees choose the right training solution for their needs.

"When outsourcing any service, you have to be sure you have the right provider," said the bank spokesperson. "We chose KnowledgePool after undertaking an extensive tender process. They have the specialist skills and the technology to manage our supplier base and administer our training. They'll give us better management information, which will enable us to better evaluate the impact of our training. They'll also monitor our needs and ensure we have the right suppliers if our training needs change."
